About Villain

I’ve been flame working since 2011, having a brief time of trying to figure it out on my own, I decided to take a beginner class at Corning Museum of Glass. I took the skills learned there and practiced, later on taking a more advanced class at Corning with Matt Tyner. A wealth of knowledge had opened up to me and I had plenty of information to take home and sharpen my skills.

I started attending Art Glass Invitational (AGI) in central Pennsylvania. For those who are unfamiliar- its essentially a summer camp for glassblowers. I was able to meet and become friends with a large group of glassblowers there, learning from so many different artists, and sharing what I had learned. This helped my understanding of glass even further, and unlocked more techniques and methods.

After 6 years or so on the torch I moved to Gainesville Florida, setting up a studio in the garage under my apartment. A year or so after, I happened to meet Robert Mickelsen and his family- his wife Cher and “the boys” Ryder and SMIFF. I began renting space with them, and soon after moved in. We all grew from each other and the various artists that came to Mickelsen Studios to teach, or attend classes.

In April 2020 I moved back to New York to build my studio. Its up and running and I’m working away to expand!
